malaysians keep falling victim to scams

Malaysia has been found to have the highest rate of online fraud re-victimization among our Asian neighbours.

According to a new survey, Malaysians are retargeted by scammers over 2.5 times on average, which indicates a lack of awareness about scam prevention.

Hong Kong and Thailand were ranked second and third respectively, behind Malaysia.

The HR Ministry is urging Malaysian employees to consider upskilling to protect their future job prospects.

This, after a study showed that more than six hundred thousand jobs in 10 sectors here could be significantly impacted by digitalization and artificial intelligence over the next five years.

However, technology is also expected to open up more opportunities, with 60 emerging jobs identified related to AI, digital tech, and green initiatives.

Malaysians, especially those living along the northern border, have been warned not to cross into Thailand illegally.

The Kelantan police chief says they are cracking down on those who cross the border without using the proper immigration checkpoints…which has become a common occurrence for some of the locals.

The Sultan of Pahang has suggested a total ban on vape and e-cigarettes in the state amid concern the habit could directly or indirectly lead to future drug abuse.

MRT Corp says the on-site construction of the MRT 3 project may only start in 2027…once it completes the land acquisition process.
