Donald Trump Projected 47th US President

Donald Trump is projected to become the 47th President of the United States. 

This, as the Republican candidate closes in on 270 electoral college votes, the minimum votes needed to win.  

Earlier, Trump addressed his supporters as he claimed victory.  

If the 78-year-old wins the election, Trump will become the oldest person in US history to be elected president.  

He'll also be the first president to serve two nonconsecutive terms since Grover Cleveland in 1892 — and only the second in history. 

Meanwhile, republicans have regained control of the US Senate, a move that'll ensure Trump’s party will control at least one chamber of Congress next year.

The Prisons Department has backed the government's decision to propose a Home Detention Act, which will introduce house arrest as an alternative sentencing option.  

It explained that the move will help reduce pressure on the prison system, lower the high incarceration rate, and save government resources.  

This, after the department revealed that the country’s prison system is currently operating at 11.24% overcapacity.

The Pahang Civil Defense Force explained that sharing such media, especially in areas that were not affected, will only create confusion among people. 

As such, it's urging the public to only share official info from authorities such as Met Malaysia.

And the Dual Language Program in schools has been showing positive results! 

The Education Ministry says the number of students passing the BM, English, Science, and Mathematics SPM exams continues to increase yearly.  

The ministry adds that from 2021 to 2023, BM recorded the highest percentage of Passes.
