pdrm confirms m'sian mercenary in ukraine

Police have confirmed that there is a Malaysian national fighting in the Russia-Ukraine war.

This, following the recent discovery of a MyKad and Malaysian driving license in the middle of the warzone.

The IGP says the 20-year-old has been in Ukraine since April, and signed up as a mercenary because of his strong interest in the military.

The individual is believed to have been injured in a recent done attack, but is alive and well.

The government has promised not to censor the internet, once social media licensing comes into force next year.

However, the Communications Minister says this doesn’t mean that illegal content can he shared freely.

He clarified that the licensing is intended to ensure a balance between freedom of speech, national security and the well-being of the citizens.

Heart and lung disease, stroke diabetes and cancer are behind 72 percent of early deaths in Malaysia.

The Health Ministry adds that these so-called silent killers also cost the economy over 64 billion ringgit a year.

The Drainage and Irrigation Department says its building underground reservoirs in KL to help mitigate flash floods in the Klang Valley.

Meanwhile, The Fire and Rescue Department says it will focus its efforts on over 4,600 flood hotspots nationwide, as part of its preparations for the Northeast Monsoon.

And, legendary US musician and producer Quincy Jones has passed away at the age of 91.

Jones won 25 Grammy Awards over his 75-year career during which he worked with the biggest names in the industry – including Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and Michael Jackson.
