Govt Still Working On T15 Definition

The government is still working out the definition for the T15 income group, as outlined in Budget 2025 last week.
The Economy Minister also called for patience and urged people not to believe social media rumours about what the income level would be.
This, after the Prime Minister announced last week that those in the T15 income group would no longer enjoy subsidies on things like fuel and a public university education.

In a related development…the Statistics Department will soon be publishing district-level cost of living indicators, to give a clearer picture of the situation in the respective areas, and to help the government better shape its policies.

The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister is urging hotel operators to adjust their check-in and check-out times so that guests get to stay for at least 23 hours.
He also promised to look into resolving staff shortages at hotels to allow them to speed up the room cleaning and preparation process.

The Federal Territories Minister says authorities are speeding up the geo-technical study of soil conditions along major roads in KL’s Golden Triangle area.
This is to reassure the public about the city’s safety, in the wake of the Jalan Masjid India sinkhole incident back in August.

About 20 thousand offenders will likely qualify for consideration under the new House Arrest Bill – which should be tabled in Parliament next year.
The Home Ministry says this includes senior citizens, pregnant women, and first-time offenders of minor crimes.
