NADMA Flood Machinery Activated

nadma flood machinery activated

All machinery under the National Disaster Management Agency has been mobilized to assist relief efforts in flood-affected states.

The DPM says the agency and other local bodies are already working together to better coordinate their operations.

This comes as some 4,400 people remain evacuated at flood relief centers in Pahang, Kedah, Perak, Melaka, Selangor and Johor.

Meanwhile, the KL City Hall has activated its operations room to monitor flooding, especially at 24 flood hot-spots in the capital.

This, following a series of flash floods at several locations around Klang Valley yesterday after heavy downpour.

In a related development, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry will work together with other relevant ministries and agencies, to address the possible rise in vegetable prices due to the year-end monsoon.

It says its currently monitoring prices and supply and will intervene if necessary.

Plans are underway to reunite the children rescued from GISB-linked welfare homes with their parents.

However, the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says the government will first ensure that the families can provide the kids with adequate and proper care.

The Health Ministry says it will not back-track on any regulations under the new Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act, as the government is committed to seeing the implementation through.

However, it says it is prepared to engage with the relevant stakeholders to discuss any questions or uncertainties they may have about the Act.
