kpm: teachers must follow strict social media guidelines

Teachers have been reminded that they must follow strict guidelines, if they want to make social media posts about their pupils.

Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek says it’s to ensure the safety of and privacy of children...

Under the guidelines teachers must obtain signed consent from parents if they want to record or take photos of pupils and post them online.

On another note, the Education Ministry has deployed its Smart Support and Academic Support Teams to help school students affected by floods up north.

They’ve been tasked with giving educational assistance, as well as psychosocial support and counselling.

Meanwhile the number of flood evacuees in Kedah has dropped to around 5,700

All flood evacuees in Perak returned home earlier today.

Bukit Aman has rubbished claims that police are not doing enough to combat scammers.

Its Commercial Crimes department says so far this year, it has already arrested over a thousand suspected scammers.

It adds that cops are also pushing for tougher anti-scam laws, including making property owners criminally liable if they rent out their properties to such syndicates.

--

This, as cops nabbed 17 suspects, over an investment scam that reportedly used the name of a legitimate UK-based investment company.

According to Bukit Aman, the scam resulted in losses of nearly RM33 million.
