New School Zone Speed

The Cabinet committee on road safety has agreed to lower the speed limit around schools to just 30 kilometres-per-hour.
The DPM says the government will work with local authorities to help enforce the new limit, and set up speed bumps in front of schools.
Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi says if the new speed limit succeeds in reducing the number of accidents around schools, it may also be implemented elsewhere...
The new school zone speed limit will be officially gazetted soon.

KTMB is working with the Land Public Transport Agency, to find a long-term solution to ensure that only women use its women-only coaches.
It adds that for now, auxiliary police officers will patrol its stations regularly.
This, after a recent viral incident where a group of male teenagers verbally harassed an Australian woman who reminded them that they were on a women-only coach.
Previously, the Transport Ministry said it’s considering a new law that will fine those who trespass into such coaches.

Cyberbullying cases, especially those involving the youth, have increased significantly in the last few years.
The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry's says the MCMC has received nearly 6,600 reports about cyberbullying so far this year.
This is compared to just over 300 in 2021.
The ministry says this is a concern, because cyberbullying can be done repeatedly and en-masse (on- mass) easily.
It adds that although it does not leave a physical impact, the symptoms are more dangerous and threatens the victim's mental health.
As such, the ministry urged parents to do their part by educating their children about social media etiquette.

In a related development, the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry says it's looking into amending the law to hold organizations accountable in sexual harassment cases.
According to the Borneo Post, the ministry says current laws focus on individuals and don't hold organizations liable if they fail to address such cases.
