Will GST Replace Petrol Subsidy Cuts?

The government is NOT looking to bring back the controversial Goods and Services Tax.
The Communications Minister has denied a recent report, which claimed that the government had discussed such a possibility as an alternative to cutting RON95 petrol subsidies.
A 6% GST was introduced by then-Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak back in 2015, before it was abolished three years later,

FOMCA has hailed the government’s move, for airlines to refund passengers if their flights are delayed by more than 5 hours.
The consumer rights group also hopes that authorities ensure that affected passengers get their money back promptly.
It says setting a definite timeframe will prevent airlines from using red tape as an excuse to delay any refunds.

The IGP has ruled out declaring KL’s Masjid India area as a disaster zone for now, due to the sinkholes that have appeared there.
He says police need approval from the National Security Council before such a declaration can be made.

Meanwhile, DBKL has denied that there’s a new sinkhole in KL’s Kg Attap area.
It says a viral photo showing such damage there is OLD.
