Suspect Remanded Over Influencer's Death

Police have arrested a woman in connection to the recent suicide of a social media activist and influencer.

Cops say the 35-year-old suspect will be remanded until tomorrow to assist with investigations.

Earlier...the Communications Ministry had also said the cabinet will look into ways to tackle cyberbullying when the ministers meet this week.

This, after the 29-year-old influencer was found dead, after she lodged a report about being bullied online.

The Communications Ministry is stepping up efforts to educate Malaysians about trending online issues.

It says the National Information Dissemination Centre will extend its digital literacy programs to reach more communities.

These programs will cover topics such as artificial intelligence, online scams, and cyberbullying awareness.

In Kedah, police are investigating an incident where two brothers, aged 2 and 3, were hospitalized, after accidentally eating snacks laced with poison.

Cops say the toddlers are in critical condition, and that the snacks were likely set out by a gardener to trap monkeys.

PDRM says a man seen in a viral video, parking in a restricted area in Damansara Perdana while apparently wearing a police tshirt, is not a cop.

Authorities clarified that the individual was wearing a fun-run t-shirt with a police logo, which he got from a PDRM community event.

In Thailand, authorities plan to shut down duty-free shops at the arrival areas of its international airports, to encourage tourists to spend their money elsewhere in the country.

However, no date has been set for the implementation.
