Sabah says it's considering using a flood warning system to help alert residents.

The state Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister adds that he'll discuss the matter with the relevant authorities first before making any decision.

This, after devastating floods in the state which some residents described as the worst in more than two decades.

The Social Welfare Department’s portal says there are some 500 flood evacuees across the state as of this morning.

In a related development...house buyers will soon be able to check a new portal that maps out flood-prone areas before purchasing their homes.

The Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry adds the website will be accessible by the end of the year.

The Education Ministry is stepping up efforts to ensure that all students who obtain 10A's and above in the SPM exams are placed in the matriculation program.

It adds that it's working with the Higher Education Ministry to do so.

Minister Fadhlina Sidek also assured that all top scorers are already in the ministry's system, and that they will arrange the placements immediately.

This, after the Prime Minister recently announced that all top scorers will be guaranteed a matriculation place regardless of race or region.
