All SPM leavers who scored 10 A’s or more, are now guaranteed a place to further their studies at matriculation level.

The PM says this is open to every student regardless of race or religion, to ensure fairness in the country’s education system.

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim adds that the move will also not affect the existing quota for Bumiputera places.

The Education Ministry is expected to announce details about the matriculation opportunities soon…after it discusses the matter with the Higher Education Ministry.

Police have opened an investigation into the circulation of graphic photos on Telegram, purportedly showing the injuries on the body of murdered boy Zayn Rayyan.

Cops are also urging people not to forward or share these images.

The latest incident comes just weeks after what were claimed to be investigation papers from the case also went viral on social media.

Malaysia is still waiting for details about rising cases of streptococcal toxic shock syndrome in Japan.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad says he does not consider the matter a public health challenge at the moment, given the lack of updates by the WHO.

This comes amid reports that Japan has recorded over a thousand cases of STSS this year.

The number of flood victims in Penampang, Sabah has risen to 112 this morning, up from 78 earlier.

Officials say there are also a small number of evacuees forced to flee their homes in Putatan.

It comes following flash floods in these two districts, as well as areas near Kota Kinabalu…due to continuous heavy rain since yesterday afternoon.
