Jun 27, 2024

kl tree inspections are ongoing

DBKL has inspected nearly 1,500 trees in the city over the past 5 years.

The Federal Territories Minister says of these trees, 173 have been cut down due to the danger they posed to the public.

Dr Zaliha Mustafa also told the Dewan Rakyat inspections on 240 other trees should be completed by August.

She adds that there have been 14 cases of fallen trees in KL since 2017, causing 5 deaths and 9 injuries.

This, after recent heavy storms caused several cases of uprooted trees in the city.
