PM Defends Targeted Diesel Subsidy
Jun 18, 2024
The PM has defended the move to rationalise diesel subsidies.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says it was to prevent leakages and abuse including from foreign parties.
He gave the example of a recent price hike among Singaporean tour companies, which he said proves that foreign firms had been reaping the benefits of the previous blanket subsidy.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Anwar urged those who experience any problems or flaws with targeted diesel subsidies to give feedback to the government.
He says it's normal for any new system to have teething problems, and this input can help improve it.
