govt denies allegations about overstaying foreigners

The government has rubbished claims that there are more than a million Chinese nationals in the country illegally.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says the allegation by an Opposition MP is unfounded.

He also explained that while there are cases of foreign nationals overstaying…most who remain in the country are here legally on long-term, social visit or student passes.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has met with his German counterpart, Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin.

Datuk Seri Anwar is on an official visit to Germany…where he’s looking to enhance bilateral and business ties with the European nation.

The Housing and Local Government Ministry is mapping affordable housing prices…to ensure that suitable prices can be offered across the country.

Its using data on the median income of residents by zones, districts and states…to serve as a guide for developers in setting house prices in each locality.

The Education Ministry will be restructuring high-density schools, to ensure a comfortable, more conducive learning experience for students.

This follows an increase in the number of new enrollments for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The Economy Minister says there have been zero successful cyberattacks against the PADU database since it went live in January.
