cops: no fireworks after midnight!

(Spoiler alert: Don't!) 

Police have reminded people to play with fireworks responsibly during Chinese New Year.  

Bukit Aman says fireworks should only be set off in open areas, and it must stop after midnight.  

It adds that those who break these rules could face action for disturbing the peace or endangering the public.  

Those found guilty could face a fine or even jail time!

Meanwhile, the IRB has reminded people planning to go overseas for the school holidays to check on the status of their tax arrears first.  

It's to make sure they are not barred from leaving the country over unpaid taxes.

5 policemen have pleaded not guilty at a court in Penang, for allegedly extorting more then RM4,000 from a motorist 

According to reports, the cops allegedly demanded the money from the motorist, after claiming to have found drugs inside his car.

The Federal Court has ruled that 16 provisions under the Kelantan Shariah criminal enactment are unconstitutional. 

In an 8-1 majority decision, the apex court said that the affected provisions are already covered under federal laws. 

Meanwhile PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim insists the unity government was not involved in the Federal Court's decision.

A married couple have been fined RM2,500 each, after they pleaded guilty to charges of intimidating other motorcyclists on the Penang Bridge. 

A recent viral video showed them riding dangerously and trying to kick other motorcyclists who overtook them.

Thai police have filed criminal charges against a Canadian man who tried to open a plane's emergency exit, as it was taxiing to take off in Bangkok.  

According to reports, the suspect wanted to leave the plane, because he believed that someone on board was trying to kill him.
