Schools have been ordered to temporarily halt outdoor activities, including sports and co-curricular activities.

Its deputy minister says this is a precautionary move, amid the hot spell affecting several areas nationwide.

She adds that so far, no schools under the ministry have closed due to extreme heat.

Meanwhile, according to MetMalaysia's latest report, 4 areas nationwide have reported 3 consecutive days of high temperatures of between 35-37 degrees celsius.

They are KL; Kuala Selangor; Tangkak, Johor and Mukah, Sarawak.
