muhyiddin charged in court

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been slapped with four counts of abuse of power involving RM232.5mil in gratification.

He was also charged at the KL Sessions Court with two counts of money laundering involving RM195mil.

The Perikatan Nasional chairman claimed trial to all charges and was granted bail of RM2 million.

He was also told to surrender his passport until the conclusion of the case.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin had maintained his innocence when giving statements to the MACC for more than eight hours yesterday.

He later said he is prepared to face any charges in court.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin is now the second former Prime Minister after Datuk Seri Najib Razak to be charged with allegedly soliciting bribes and embezzling funds.

The EPF will review the best way to execute the Prime Minister’s latest proposed initiative for contributors.

The fund says it will go through all possible options for its effective implementation, before announcing it to the public.

This, after Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government was considering a policy where those who are facing financial trouble, can use their EPF account 2 savings as collateral for emergency bank loans.

All families affected by the ongoing flooding in Johor will receive 300 ringgit.

A state official says the money will be given, even if the families were not required to evacuate to relief centers.

This, as the number of flood evacuees in Johor remained at over 40 thousand, although the situation is slowly improving in most districts in the state.
