A court in Perak has charged a man with murdering his mother and mutilating her body at a house in Parit Buntar.

The accused was arrested earlier this month after 15 pieces of cut-up body parts were found at the house.

Earlier reports said the suspect had received treatment as a mental patient two decades ago, but has since not received any follow up treatment.

Malaysia has been ranked 32nd in this year’s International Institute for Management Development World Competitiveness Ranking.

We dropped seven positions from our spot in 2021.

The IMD says Thailand and Indonesia also fell in their rankings, driven by a slow re-opening of the economy following the pandemic.

Meanwhile, China still tops the Asia-Pacific economies along with Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Bersatu denies rumours of Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and Datuk Rashid Hasnon leaving the party

man charged with murdering mother and hacking her into 15 pieces

The President of Bersatu has rubbished rumours alleging Senior Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Azmin Ali and Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon are planning to leave the party.

This, following Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin’s decision to quit Bersatu last month.

Meanwhile, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says he has already been in contact with the Prime Minister over Datuk Zuraida’s role in Cabinet as the Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister.

He says the party’s stance is that her position in Cabinet is because she was a Bersatu member and that the quota for the party remains.

However, Tan Sri Muhyiddin says a final decision is up to the Prime Minister.
