Police in Perak say action will be taken against a driver who was seen obstructing an ambulance along the North-South expressway.

He adds that the man is still receiving treatment for the condition.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing a vehicle blocking an ambulance despite the ambulance blaring its siren.

Selangor plans to meet with the relevant agencies soon, to discuss whether to close nurseries, day-care centres and kindergartens following a rise in hand, foot, and mouth disease cases.

This comes after the state health department said over 6,700 cases of the disease were reported as of earlier this month.

Most of the cases involved young children at such premises.
